Getting used to substack so I replied in notes, but here’s what I said: "Thanks for posting. I’ve sitting on these stories for a few months and it was the right time to screen / publish them. They wouldn’t be anything without yours and others contributions. Plus they’re fun to make! Here’s the link to the website with different submission platforms: https://thenightmareproject.com/

I love this whole project and the creativity involved in the filming and over dubbing. When I was 9 or 10, I had both a dream and an awake experience similar to this. I would be in the throws of a horrible nightmare and something so shocking happened in the dream, that I was forced to awaken, but I wasn't truly fully awake. My eyes were wide opened, but my brain was still dreaming and I saw the dream in my bedroom. The incident I remember most vividly involved my closet door. It was the typical childhood fear that there was something in my closet. Something insidious, silent and invisible when I looked in the daytime, but still there in my mind. That particular time, when I awakened, but the dream continued my closet door flew opened and I saw what was inside. To this day, I don't remember what I saw. Nepenthe took hold of me and erased it seconds after I saw it, but it couldn't erase the scream that brought my parents running.

Ooh! Ugh! I've had the 'Old Hag' experience, too! Hypnogogia! Isn't it strange that universally it should always be an 'old hag'...? 🤔 I managed to force my paralysed self to leap out of bed naked in an attempt to scare HER! 😱 🤣

haha that's awesome. I had this idea for a story where someone tries to capture the old hag. Maybe I'll write that some day.
