Sean, why did you sit on this?? It's brilliant. It really resonated with me, especially the theme of having a mentally ill/emotionally abusive parent. Wonderful, vulnerable stuff. Thank you for sharing it with the world.
This character swims around his mind like a big fish in a small koi pond. Nowhere to go and getting too big for his space, or his space is getting too small. Being viewed by his niece who wishes he could be free. That isn't the free she wished for.--This was solid and complex. Great writing!!
Wow! It’s wonderful! Where have I been all this time and why haven’t I read your stuff sooner?! Shame on me! A beautifully written story! It’s alive...🩶
This piece felt effortless to read in the best way; the way the sentences are crafted and the word choice held me close the whole time. I’m curious what happens next to this complex pair of folks! As always, thank you for writing and posting such a rich and lovely piece.
Oh, I listened to half the story read to me by your excellent reader, but then I wanted to read it myself, because I could go faster and I loved the story so much that I needed to gobble it down.
The concept of our impression of the world and our place in it has always fascinated me. Am I the star of a play that is life? Or am I just a bit player in God's play, or fate's play, or nothing's play. Your story personalizes that concept beautifully, touchingly and sadly. The conversation with the niece was the perfect way to have us see the protagonist from two points of view. I would love to know him. Maybe I do? Bravo.
I just commented earlier on someone else's post how desperate I was to find some quality new fiction to move me.
Found it!
That means the world to me. Thank you! 🙏🏼
Heard you talk this up on your live stream with Scoot. And yeah, man, you should be proud of this one. Well done.
Made my night! Thank you! 🙏🏼

Thank you, Mary! That makes me very happy!
Frankly I am just glad this 'character' isn't you. You are currently and weirdly on a pedestal in my stupid mind.
Wow, thank you!

Thank you, Jeremy! It was an interesting character to explore. These people are family now, and I really want the best for them. :)
