So sorry for your loss, dear friend. What a beautiful send off, what she said to you! Brought tenderness to me. Sidenote, this message in my emails finally got me on the substack! Lol
Sean, this is so darn powerful. My grandmother was a huge force in my life as well and I lost her two years ago and this resonated me like a bell, brother. I am so sorry for your loss and I wish you and yours the best
Sorry for your loss, buddy. I’m glad you had someone in your life like that. My grandma and grandpa were pretty rad. I’m not sure what I believe when it comes to the afterlife, but I’m hoping they’re together again. :)
Sean, I need Kleenex after reading your post about your grandma and your recollection of Nonno and his vanilla pipe tobacco and his famous tattoo. It's amazing the thing we cling to if we were lucky to have living grandparents. I was close to both of my grandmothers and one of them told me a story (and she was not a creative person) that I've got to write up and post here. It's about gypsies and three barrels. Anyway, my mother's mother have me the gift of love and culture. She loved classical music and introduced me to it at a very young age. One of her son's, my Uncle Bill was a radio actor who put me on radio when I was nine years old. Man I love it, and I loved Uncle Bill. What I really wanted to say was that reading about YOUR grandma and grandpa made me tear up and grab the kleenex. You are very special, very kiind, and blessed with deep feelings that all fuel your creativity. Bless your heart, Sonny.
The Nonno microfiction is only partly true! He didn't die from cancer, and I don't have any tattoos! But my grandpa Pop did smoke pipes and he did have a tat he got in the navy.
Thank you for this lovely comment, Sandy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow Sean really really beautiful writing. So much of it. I went a little restack manic. Also sending love about grandma. There’s just something magical about a grandparent.
great collection here, and one that would have made your grandma proud. i am going to assume she was a huge fan of folk horror, and i wont hear otherwise.

Deepest condolences Sean.
Thank you, Tiffany. 🖤 That means a lot to me.

I blew the end. I wrote "Sonny" instead of "Shonny." I hate typos, and idiot who don't go over what they wrote. :(
haha I didn't even catch that!
