I want to show the class this one too… how words change when they hit music

That is an interesting thing to explore. You can ask the class for a recommendation of a song they might like, then read it as a class. I had a teacher in middle school do that with Hotel California. He printed out the lyrics and told us to try to figure out what it meant. That lesson really stuck with me.

You are not horrible for thinking so. This is how I feel. This didn't make me sad. It gave me company.

Great poem, keep up the good work!

This made me sad knowing it once reflected how you felt, but that’s also what makes this work. Who hasn’t felt ‘lousy’ about themself at some point? One thought: all the verses have a rhyme except the fourth. It stopped the flow for me. Other than that 👍.

Do psychopaths ever feel lousy? I don't know. Self doubt is a constant reminder that one isn't completely devoid of emotions.
